PARNET is a a nonprofit association founded in May 2008 in Rome, Italy, by a small group of African and European professionals motivated to promote small but effective sustainable development projects meant to improve directly the quality of life of the involved communities. We trust in sharing knowledge, experiences, and choices in decision-making, so we are dedicated to maximise participation of all stakeholders both in research, project design and implementation, coherently with participatory action research methodology. Currently, the core competencies of PARNET members include: social research; project design and evaluation; rural geography. The managing committee is currently composed by the following elected members: President: Luca Rondini (sociologist) Vice-President: Hagos Zigta Ghiday (social worker) Counselor: Eleonora Troiani (social worker) |

PARNET is to constitute an hub to ideate, elaborate, promote and realize small projects of development, utilization of new sustainable technologies and international cooperation. We trust in grassroots organization, sharing and participation. That is why we have chosen our logo on the homepage: it is an Adinkra traditional motif symbolizing support, cooperation and encouragement, from the expression "When you climb a good tree, you are given a push". More metaphorically, it means that when you work for a good cause, you will get support. We consider fair trade standards a minimum essential requirement to be met by our projects.
